HP Virtualization Blade

This is one I picked up from David Marshall. Apparently HP’s “new” virtualization blade will ship with solid state drives from Samsung. I was trying to work out the significance of this no-moving-parts local storage. After all if VMotion, DRS and HA all required shared-storage, the usefulness of local storage whether it be metal disk or solid-state is a little bit questionable…..

Isn’t the future going to be about diskless servers/blades with the hypervisor embedded into the box?
