One of the slightly annoying aspects of VMware’s move over to the U1, U2, U3 and now U4 values for new versions of ESX and vCenter – is how these “Update” numbers don’t appear on the ESX console (either ESX “Classic” or ESXi). You can always find out the build numbers – and then map them from the download page of the VMware.com website. Here’s a round up of build numbers

I’m not sure what the build number is for U3 of vCenter – I’m sure someone will read this – leave a comment and I will update the post. I didn’t help I accidentally posted this without realizing on April 1st. That wasn’t deliberate!
