UDA 2.0 Beta Released

Well, I’m pleased to announce that the new version of UDA is available. It’s beta, and some work has been done it to make it work ESX4. I will have a document available in the couple days (weeks?) time which will walk you thru the setup and configure to deploy ESX4 classic.

Looking forward to another great document from you. I did try the beta earlier, but could use your great guide to fallback to.

What is the password for the web interface admin/admin doesn’t seem to work

    thanks

  5. Mike Laverick Says:

The password for the admin account should be what ever you set when you powered on the appliance. Did you not see the wizard that runs at first power on?

    Hi Mike
    a bug to report

I have added unstable NFS storage (2008-based, anonymous allowed… locks remain after graceless operations)

UDA2 web interface cannot list its available Storage havin such element in non-operational state

  7. LevT2 Says:

Please make more attention to correct handling of mount errors and web ui timeouts.

FYI: I errorously added the ESXi ISO as ESX4 and deleted it when noticed. The tombstone label remains.

  8. LevT2 Says:

For now the appliance can operate in a very stable and sustained environment. It is a very ugly tool to establish such environment, as along of timeouts and web ui slowdown.

Need a little help with UDA2 beta when building ESX 4.0 update 1 from ISO – loads all the iso image but the get an error NO COS NIC has been added by user – I even get this with your default script – I run a dhcp server from the UDA appliance which connects fine at pxe boot

    PLease help

    Thanks

  10. Mike Laverick Says:

I’ve not had an opportunity to even test U1 against the UDA yet.

The does the ISO actually upload properly. Does the scripted install actually complete?

The reason I ask is this No COS NIC warning has been around for sometime, it seems benign, and no-one at VMware as ever adequately explained its meaning… I can try again to get resolution if its a show stopper…

  12. Jason Says:

    Hi Mike,

I am attempting to deploy multiple ESX servers using the UDA appliance but I am keep getting the infamous “NO COS NIC has been added by user” error.

Is there a work around for this error?

    Jason
