Yep. Update. I broke the TomTom cradle. Fortunately it was within warranty - and I got replacement. The newer version comes with a bit of plastic to make sure it charges properly with the iPhone4. TomTom never did send me the widget for the first cradle...

THe outstanding issue remains audio. There's no phono connection on the front of the Bose. No-one at Mazda seems to understand my problem - I get differing answers from everyone. The worst one was a quote of £250 for a connection - but I'm sure they got confused with the IPOD connector in the glove box which I already have...

The rear bumpers in this car are produced wider and deeper, along with a considerable crease on the side.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
IF you bought the TomTom iPhone Cradle in early.... You will find it is DOES NOT supply power to the iPhone4. This is because the iPhone is slightly thinner the 3GS version. There is a simple work around, and you can qualify for a fix from TomTom here:

http://www.tomtom.com/page/iphone-4-adapter

Bu the way the fix is some kind stick on sponge which makes sure the iPhone is correctly positioned as to make contact with the charger correctly. It's a lo-fi solution!

Hi,

Thanks for the post, confirmed my thoughts on the same subject :)

I'm about to buy an MX-5 Sport Tech Coupe and I need some form of sat nav in it, as well as a means to get the iPhone either iPod or Spotify out of the speakers.

The car has a little jack in the dash, though trailing a cable across to there is a bit unsightly. I also have the problem of where to mount it. The iPhone makes a pretty good sat nav (try NDrive it's cheap and good from app store) but most of the window mounts and grill mounts I've found and tried are a bit naff and very shaky.

How are you finding the tomtom mount and were you able to connect it to the back of the head unit? My guess is as theres a jack socket in the dash that means it can be unplugged form the headunit and a cable run form the iphone dock to it through some route.
